Healing Heroes.......and more!
It is the first Saturday of the month and the classroom is full to brimming with quilters, fabric and quilts tops.......The ladies come together and work hard to produce lap top quilts for our servicemen and women who have been wounded in action in the various places the Canadian Forces have stationed them. Here's Judy with fabrics chosen to start yet another quilt top...
Here Diana and Sylvia are holding up two of the completed quilts which will be making their way to Melanie in Ottawa for distribution while Tiia looks on. The one on the left is with "computer" fabric and made by Tiia, the quilt on the left was a discarded quilt top from a project started at Cock A Doodle Quilts.
Here Tiia and Diana hold up two "fish" quilt tops done by Tiia. They still need to be layered and quilted.
Here are two more - these are all ready to go.
.....and two more, the one on the right only needs binding.....
....and two more ready to go to Ottawa......
Here we have Diana with the pillowcase on the left and Sylvia with the quilt on the right discussing whether or not to make pillowcases for each quilt to send them in......great idea!
On the design wall - a batik quilt is evolving.....
