I realize that I have been remiss in blogging the last few days so I will bring you up to date. Suffice it to say that Tuesday was a WRITE OFF! Got nothing done - the car was in being fixed and I was sitting around waiting for a ride to the store (it's a long walk in the cold)! I must say, it was a pleasant surprise to find out that the battery was under warranty along with a few other things and all I ended up paying for was the oil change....thank you Dean Myers!
I'm not sure if I mentioned that I started reading My Sister's Keeper on Monday, well, I got totally engrossed and didn't get to sleep until 7:00 A.M. on Wednesday morning....that happens once in a while, I'm not quite tired enough, I try to sleep, toss and turn, start reading again and Voila! So most of Wednesday turned out to be a WRITE OFF too! I finally got into the store around 2:00 P.M. and got a few things done....but not a heck of alot! I did manage to get the sashing pieces for the Marti Michell cut....
Thursday was our first official Thursday Sit & Sew! We only had two participants but they were definitely getting things done.....Linda was working on the Marti Michell Mystery Quilt she started last April and it is just stunning! She chose the Provence Fabrics we have in the store and we were all drooling......
I got going on the sashing for my American Beauty and honestly, each segment that I add just makes me love this quilt even more.......I decided to go home at a decent hour last night and so I had time to wash and curl??!! my hair. Now this is something I never (I mean NEVER!) do. When I called Kathy in the store this morning, I said " Do you know why it's snowing (it was for awhile)??? Because I slept with curlers!" I let her take a rare photo and promised I would post it - so here I am........
We were busy all day with class sign ups and customers coming in and we had a few Show and Shares.....First Andy came in with quilt #4 - a baby quilt for her grandchild....... I believe the pattern is from the book "Small Blocks, Stunning Quilts!" (which I need to put on the next order! it's a fabulous book!)
If you recall, I mentioned earlier in the week how we, as quilters, usually make the same New Year's Resolution!!! Personally, I love January, because it seems we all need to get something to "finish" off projects we have made.......today was no exception, one of our customers' came in today ready to pick borders for two stunning quilts......
The first one is from a Block of The Month she did at Jillybean's called Classic Santas......I think it's gorgeous and guess what?!! You may just see it offered up at Cock A Doodle in the very near future!
Tonight the plan is to cook and quilt......I need to make a meat sauce for Spaghetti for tomorrow's final Block of the Month class for the Crystal Reflections/Country Magic quilts which Laurissa taught for the past 12 months and I also need to cook for Sunday's "Private" Sit & Sew and then of course there's our Monday Sit & Sew ...... can I get it all done???!!! We'll soon see.........
I guess I'd better get started!
Happy Quilting Everyone!
