What a gorgeous day!

Happy Holidays everyone!  Wasn't it the most glorious day?  After listening to the news I found out we broke records in how warm it was.....

Barb and I decided to do something we seem to never have time to do together - Sit & Sew!  We met up at the store and spread ourselves out in the classroom......

Barb is working on a store sample that we are going to kit up for you - and here she is hard at work.......

I had to make up for yesterday's picture.....she really does work hard!

What she's working on is what we like to call an "I don't know what it's going to be" - Baby Quilt which translates to good for a girl or a boy!  I don't recall the name of the pattern and I forgot to bring my copy home but I believe it takes 8 fat quarters and voila!

I was working on a charity quilt for York Heritage (I think I mentioned this before) using a pattern from the book - Bundles of Fun!  The pattern calls for 12 fat quarters and then you add borders.  My version is a little tricker because I am using fabrics provided by the Guild and they don't actually add up to 12 fat quarters so there's a bit of improvising going on......as a matter of fact it will look nothing like the pattern by the time I'm done but I certainly have to give credit to the method......

By the end of the day (evening because we left the store around 9:30 P.M.) this is what we had both accomplished -

You will notice my quilt got bigger while Barb's got smaller......she finished her quilt top, mine still has around 9 strips to go.........

I'm hoping to get some more work done on it tomorrow or Sunday but I can never seem to actually "plan" to quilt -

Tomorrow is the monthly meeting of Healing Heroes so although Barb and I both left our machines out ready to go, we both know that whatever time we can "steal" to quilt is a bonus!

I went home feeling like I accomplished something as I know Barb did and then I continued by doing some Sashiko in front of the TV for awhile.....I'm sure she was busy stitching away too!

Off to dream about all the quilts I want to do.....

Happy Quilting!

Just for the record, my quilt is called "Crazy Eights" and takes 6 fat quarters. It's a fun little and works up pretty quickly too!

Errrr, I shouldn't leave comments when I'm tired. Of course "Crazy Eights" takes 8 fat quarters and not 6. Sorry about that.
