Welcome to our Open House......

Welcome everyone to our Winter/Spring 2009 Open House! If you haven't been in yet then you don't know that Fabric is 20% OFF! (minimum 1 metre cuts) and Patterns are 15% OFF!

There is a lull right now so I thought, since I had the opportunity to sit down - I would do the blog.
The store looks great - the girls did a wonderful job setting everything up so that you could get a good look at the upcoming class offerings. In the background of the next photo you can see Rain Drops and Indian Summer both being taught by Laurissa Werhun - they are absolutely stunning quilts!

I promised you I would show you what Nancy is working on from Kim Diehl's book - Simple Seasons. It is a table runner with Yo-Yo's and she is using those wonderful Yo-Yo makers (which we carry - of course!) to do it. It is much better seen in person but the combo of fabrics she's chosen really make this pop.
SOMETHING NEW AND EXCITING! Nancy and I have been commiserating of late and we have come up with a plan. This will be officially announced in a couple of weeks by e-mail and "snail" mail but we thought we would give you all a preview at the Open House.
Nancy and I will be starting "The Underground Railroad Club". The quilts we will be discussing and working on range from Dear Jane and Dear Hannah to the Civil War Quilt and Love Letters from the Civil War. In addition there will be other larger scale quilts available for you to do.....The first meeting will be an evening meeting in February where we will discuss the quilts, let you make your choices and also choose a date when we can all meet once a month to work on the quilts and further extend knowledge of this era in time......
Nancy has set up a display in the classroom which will have you drooling over all the fabrics, patterns and books available for this club. Be sure to take a look while you're in the store this weekend.
I really hope you can all make it in.
Happy Quilting!
Jo-Ann and the Chicks
